Major transformation for Far East Major Broadcaster

Marquis Media Partners is working alongside the University of Salford on a major transformation project at one of the Far East’s major public broadcasters.

MMP and the university’s School of Media designed a wide-ranging series of year-long initiatives to help the television, radio and online broadcaster address a very challenging new competitive and financial environment.

In particular, MMP led stakeholder mapping exercises to select 45 Change Champions from middle and senior management and helped them develop a 5-year strategy as well as improve their leadership skills.

MMP also carried out a review of the organisation’s HR and People processes and provided the broadcaster with a large number of recommendations on ways to improve recruitment, reward, performance management and internal communications.

A small internal communications team was formed and trained by MMP. They then launched a consultation exercise which received ideas and suggestions from more than 1,200 members of staff who are based at a large number of different sites. Many of these contributions are now being incorporated into MMP’s proposals for the broadcaster’s new 5-year strategy.

Marquis is now working with the university to develop a second phase of the transformation project which will focus on achieving on-air improvements via a wide range of training modules that will include leadership, presentation, promotion, producer skills and training-the-trainers.
